Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has shaken off his error from three games ago.

The name Felix Wiedwald will bring back a few awful memories for Leeds fans, with the German’s knack for errors costing the team points last season.

Goalkeepers make mistakes, and it is how they recover from them that matters.

Current Leeds number one Bailey Peacock-Farrell came into the season with a point to prove, and most expected that he would lose his place to loanee Jamal Blackman.

Peacock-Farrell has proved a point so far, but had a wobble in Leeds’ first defeat, at home to Birmingham City last month.

Fans were worried. Would Leeds’ successful start to the season be halted again by a shaky goalkeeper? There were even calls for Blackman to replace the Whites youngster.

In the two games since, Peacock-Farrell has returned to form, and shown no ill effects of his potentially confidence-sapping mistakes against Birmingham.

He has only conceded one goal, a wonderstrike from Adam Reach that no goalkeeper in the world could have kept out.

There is another test this weekend when Peacock-Farrell returns to Elland Road for the game at home to Brentford.

When a goalkeeper isn’t noticed, it means they are doing something right, and Peacock-Farrell has slipped back out of the spotlight.

Showing a mental resilience to bounce back from an error is so important, and it looks like the Leeds goalkeeper has passed a big test.
