Leeds United signed Sonny Perkins this summer and the former West Ham United talent is already making a big impact at Elland Road.
The Whites love to recruit young talent and have previously swooped for the likes of Lewis Bate, Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt.
The idea is for Leeds to have a very competitive Under-23 side, developing young talent for eventual first-team action.
That has certainly worked for Pascal Struijk and with Gelhardt knocking on the door, the hope is that more and more young talent will emerge.
Leeds United signed Sonny Perkins this summer
Leeds continued their youth recruitment drive this summer by signing Perkins from West Ham United.
Perkins, 18, spent just over three years in the West Ham ranks having been plucked from neighbours Leyton Orient.
Perkins was outstanding in Premier League 2 last season, bagging 10 goals in 20 appearance.
David Moyes handed Perkins his senior debut in the Europa League and the teenager even made a Premier League appearance.
Yet with a new contract unable to be thrashed out, Perkins chose to leave West Ham and join Leeds.

The teenager was on the bench against Cagliari but went unused as Jesse Marsch chose not to make substitutions.
The Athletic now claim that Perkins is really impressing the Leeds coaching staff having made a ‘quick and convincing’ impact in his first weeks as a Leeds player.
That’s a major compliment to Perkins, who has taken a real gamble in swapping West Ham for Leeds.
Right back Jeremy Ngakia made a similar decision when he joined Watford in 2020 and that move really hasn’t paid off.
Perkins will be hoping for some senior minutes this season and making an immediate impact on Marsch’s coaching staff is certainly the right way to push towards that goal.
