Leeds United are said to be interested in signing Norwich City midfielder Jonny Howson.
Pontus Jansson has told Expressen that he wants to stay at Leeds United, but only if they invest properly.
Jansson has been linked away from Elland Road this summer, after enjoying a brilliant first season in English football.
Jansson starred for Leeds in the Championship over the past campaign, but his form has not gone unnoticed.
It is believed the centre-back wants to stay with Leeds, but he has urged the Yorkshire side to invest.
Jansson said: “The team I play for must invest properly.”
Jansson’s comments could show just how important that Leeds bringing in Jonny Howson this summer will be.
Howson is the most expensive and reputed player which Leeds have been linked with to date.
The Norwich City midfielder is said to be on Leeds’ radar, with a fee of around £4 million required for the 29-year-old (TeamTalk).
And if Leeds could bring in Howson, it may just prove to Jansson that the club’s ambitions for the upcoming season matches his own.
