Leeds United are said to be lining up a bid for Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths.

Leigh Griffiths scores the second goal for Celtic

According to a report in the printed edition of The Sun on 24 May, page 72, Leeds United are set to submit a £3 million bid for Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths.

Leeds have reportedly made Griffiths one of their top targets, with the Yorkshire club keen to make the Scottish international their first summer signing.

And, if Leeds are able to complete a deal, it could provide them with one of the most dangerous strike forces in the Championship.

Chris Wood netted 30 goals for Leeds this season, but the Whites could not find a striker to back him up.

The likes of Marcus Antonsson, Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez all struggled to score with much frequency.

However, if Griffiths was to arrive – Leeds would have one of the most prolific strikers in Britain over the last two years in their ranks.

Griffiths has netted 58 goals over the last two campaigns, and would arrive at Elland Road with great confidence.

And if Griffiths could continue his scoring form in England, then Leeds would surely have one of the best attacking line-ups in the Championship, if they did sign the 26-year-old.
