Leeds would have been disappointed to miss out on Ovie Ejaria
If an ankle ligament injury had not prevented Leeds United from signing skilful Liverpool youngster Ovie Ejaria in January, as reported by All Nigeria Soccer, would Garry Monk’s side have been able to arrest a late-season slump which cost them a place in the play-offs?
It’s difficult to tell. What is certain, however, is that the 19-year-old could have provided that balletic agility and composed cutting edge that Leeds were so clearly lacking as a top six spot slipped through their fingers.
Six months on, ensuring that history does not repeat itself next season is a must. Therefore, although the Ejaria deal appears to have passed them by, there’s an argument to be made that his fellow Liverpool starlet could make a real impact at Elland Road.
According to The Mirror, Sheyi Ojo will be loaned out by The Reds next summer due to a lack of first-team opportunities at Anfield and Premier League duo Newcastle United and Burnley would jump at the chance of having him in their squad.
Liverpool’s Sheyi Ojo failed to build on an impressive 2015/16 season
The 20-year-old, who became the most expensive 14-year-old in English football history when Liverpool paid QPR £2 million for his services, only featured twice in the first-team last season.
Likely loanee
Yet, an impressive loan spell at Wolves in 2015/16 suggests that the quick-footed England youth international could offer a tantalising glimpse of his potential if given a run of games.

And with Modou Barrow and Alfonso Pedraza both returning to their parent clubs, Leeds have space available in their squad for a talented, jet-heeled winger.
They made excellent use of the loan market last term and Ojo could be exactly the sort of player to provide a dash of maverick charm to a side overloaded with functionality and lacking in flair.
