Leeds United will be one of the favourites to earn promotion to the Premier League this season.
Newcastle United’s Ciaran Clark
There is one week left before Leeds United begin yet another Championship campaign, and once again supporters will be hoping it will be their last.
In order to endure Leeds do earn promotion to the Premier League, Marcelo Bielsa and Co. need to sort out a number of problem areas in the team – one of them so happens to be the defence.
Leeds are looking at a number of potential targets and one name they should look at is Newcastle United’s Ciaran Clark, who has become a bit of a forgotten man at St James’ Park.
The 2016 Newcastle summer signing, who arrived from Aston Villa for £5 million [BBC Sport], has vasts amounts of experience, including in the Premier League, which would be useful to this Leeds team.
Added with that, he produced his best football when he was playing in the Championship with Newcastle during their promotion campaign.
So, added with experience, he has an understanding of what it takes to earn promotion. So, once again, he would prove to be a very useful addition to Bielsa’s team.

Not only that, Clark isn’t one of Newcastle’s key players, so potentially signing him would become more realistic and he wouldn’t fetch such a high price-tag.
Whilst the new Championship season is around the corner, the summer transfer window will slam shut four days after Leeds kick off their new season against Bristol City.
There is still time for Leeds to add another much-needed fresh pair of legs in defence because the Championship, as Leeds fans will know, can be an unforgiving league.
