Should Leeds United renew an interest in Scott Malone this summer?

Leeds United are guaranteed to endure a mid-table finish in the Championship this season and if promotion is on the cards next season then their recruitment has to be superb in the coming months.
Paul Heckingbottom and Director of Football Victor Orta need to analyse the weaknesses within the squad and bolster those positions with better players.
It really is that simple for Leeds and one area which definitely needs strengthening is left-back.
Tom Pearce endured a difficult stint in last week’s defeat at Norwich City and although the 20-year-old has a bright future, United obviously need a tried-and-tested defender for that role next season.
And one man who might just fit the bill is Huddersfield Town left-back Scott Malone.

The 27-year-old was linked with a move to Elland Road in January and the Terriers weren’t keen to sell him, it could be different this time around.
Malone is clearly on the fringes of things, having started only two Premier League games in three months, and he could be tempted away by the promise of regular football.
At Leeds, the former Fulham man – who earns £7,000 per week [Silly Season] – would be competing with Pearce and January signing Laurens de Bock, but he is comfortably better than both at the moment and he should be seriously considered.
Malone, who is contracted to David Wagner’s side until 2020, is worth around £3.5 million, according to CIES, Football Observatory.
