The centre-back could be needed at Elland Road.
Vegard Forren celebrates scoring the second goal for Molde
Leeds United are currently feeling the brunt of Pontus Jansson’s absence from the first-team. They take on Bristol City tonight following on from their weekend defeat against Cardiff City and will again be hoping Liam Cooper can do a job at centre-back in the Swede’s absence.
In hindsight, Leeds should have made a move for another central defender during the January transfer window but with Luke Ayling an option they must have felt they had enough – that was not the case.
If they want to bring in a new centre-back now they need to dive into the free agent market. But there is actually one option that Leeds should consider.
Norwegian international Vegard Forren is currently a free agent after his contract at Molde came to an end.
The 28-year-old is most famous for turning down a move to Liverpool and joining Southampton in 2013, only for the Saints to sack Nigel Adkins and replace him with Mauricio Pochettino – who was not a fan.

He did not play a single game for the Saints and returned to Molde but is now looking for a different direction in his career.
The left-footed defender could certainly be a hit in the Championship and add some balance to the Leeds defence for the rest of the season.
He is available on a free and is certainly worth a look from Leeds United.
