Leeds United need quality defensive reinforcements and the Manchester City youngster has all the attributes to be a hit at Elland Road.

It is no secret that Leeds United need additional centre-backs, and while their fans will be hopeful of smart permanent signings, new Whites manager Thomas Christiansen should seriously consider a loan move for Manchester City’s Tosin Adarabioyo.

The 19-year-old only recently agreed a new contract at the Etihad Stadium. However the Daily Mail claim City are willing to send the defender out on loan next season and Leeds would be the ideal destination.

In fact, it could be a move that benefits Leeds for more than just a single season if they do ultimately secure promotion back to the top flight come May.

He may be young, but Adarabioyo is one of the most highly rated teenagers coming through the ranks at a very impressive City academy, and alongside Pontus Jansson he could form an effective partnership, repalcing the gap left by former loanee Kyle Bartley.

If Leeds then earn promotion in Christiansen’s first year at the helm, City would surely then be open to extending Adarabioyo’s loan deal for another 12 months, allowing him the Premier League platform he so craves.

Other Championship clubs have exploited the loan window to brilliant effect, with Tammy Abraham’s spell at Bristol City a case in point.

Adarabioyo is just as good in terms of innate quality, albeit in a very different position, and Leeds could pull off one of the smartest signings of the summer if they can convince City to do business.

Some Leeds fans may be quick to dismiss a loan deal for a teenage centre-back when other more experienced options may be available. However the young defender is a future star for club and country and the Whites should make the call before someone else does.
