Leeds United have been linked with Liverpool attacking midfielder Ryan Kent in recent times.
Kent has already been sent out on one temporary spell this season, but the attacking midfielder barely featured for Freiburg.
Liverpool are keen to avoid that situation arising again, and now want to put a clause in the deal which will encourage Leeds to pick the youngster.
Liverpool are looking at doing a loan deal which will mean that Leeds will have to pay a sizeable fee, if Kent does not play a set number of matches.
That stipulation should put Leeds off pushing through a deal for Kent, as they simply are not that desperate for more attackers.
While there would be no harm in adding another creative influence to Leeds’ side, Kent needs to break into Thomas Christiansen’s plans on merit, not because of a stipulation in his transfer.
Leeds already have ample quality in attacking midfield positions in their squad, with Pablo Hernandez, Samu Saiz, Ezgjan Alioski and Kemar Roofe all able to play in those positions.
And it would be a mistake to guarantee Kent playing time, just to make sure he arrives at Elland Road in the coming weeks.
