Leeds United should make a move for Sunderland defender Lamine Kone in the summer transfer window.

Sunderland look set to get relegated to League One at the end of the season, and one suspects that a number of their players will be sold or will want to leave in the summer transfer window.
Leeds United fans already have an eye on one of Sunderland’s players, Lynden Gooch; they were impressed with the performance of the 22-year-old USA international midfielder at Elland Road in the Championship at the weekend, as reported by HITC Sport.
Gooch is a very promising young player, but Leeds are looking good in midfield for the time being.

What the West Yorkshire outfit could do with is a quality centre-back for the 2018-19 campaign, and Sunderland’s Lamine Kone fits the bill.
Kone is one of the best centre-backs in the Championship, but a recent report in The Sunderland Echo claimed that the Black Cats could struggle to get £6 million for him – the transfer fee they paid Lorient for his services in January 2016, as reported by The Daily Mail.
Leeds have looked vulnerable at the back throughout the season, with star central defender Pontus Jansson not exactly have a great campaign.

Kone is a hugely experienced footballer who would enhance the quality of the Leeds defence.
The 29-year-old Ivory Coast international centre-back would not only be able a capable partner for Jansson, but he would also be able to replace the Sweden international in the side and play with another defender should his form dips.
