Leeds United could end their search for a centre-back by signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.
Leeds only have two recognised senior centre-backs in their current squad, in the shape of Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper – with Giuseppe Bellusci set to depart.
While Jansson is a stand out player, and Cooper has previously proven to be a solid option at Championship level, Leeds realise they need to add more depth to their team this summer.
And it could be that Leeds find what they are looking for at Tottenham Hotspur.
Cameron Carter-Vickers may be inexperienced, but he looks to have a hugely bright future at Spurs.
The American youth international is regarded as a top prospect by Mauricio Pochettino, and has already been handed four senior appearances for Spurs.
Carter-Vickers appears to be one the verge of making a breakthrough, and a season playing regular football could be perfect for him.
Leeds could offer the 18-year-old that opportunity, and he would also strengthen their starting line-up.
Carter-Vickers already boasts a sizeable amount of physical quality and speed.
And if Leeds could bring the youngster to Elland Road this summer, it could be a transfer deal which suits every party involved.
