Nottingham Forest defender Michael Mancienne would be a smart signing for Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

According to The Mirror (Transfer Live blog, 15:15pm, Friday, July 6, 2018), Nottingham Forest reportedly want to offload Michael Mancienne in the summer transfer (click here to read more), and Leeds United should make a move for the former Chelsea defender.
Mancienne is a very versatile and experienced defender who knows the Championship inside out.
A versatile footballer, the 30-year-old can operate as a central defender, a full-back or as a defensive midfielder.
With Forest (reportedly) willing to sell the defender, Leeds could get him on the cheap, and it would not be a bad idea for the Whites to make an offer.
Primarily a central defender, Mancienne would add depth to that particular department at Leeds.
True, the former Chelsea and Hamburg defender may not be able to instantly make himself a regular beside Pontus Jansson at the heart of the Leeds defence, but he will add squad depth and bring extensive experience.

The Forest defender will also be pushing Liam Cooper and Conor Shaughnessy for a place in the team, and his arrival would enhance healthy competition.
Moreover, Mancienne would be able to fill in at full-back and in defensive midfielder if need be.
