With Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder ruling out a move for Martyn Waghorn, Leeds United should move on from their reported pursuit of Matej Vydra and make a bid for the Ipswich Town striker.
United manager Wilder has stated his interest in Waghorn, but he has also claimed that since the former Rangers striker has a price-tag of £8 million-£10m, he is out of their reach, as quoted by The East Anglican Daily Times.
This should invite Leeds to make a move for Waghorn, with their reported pursuit of Derby County forward Vydra going nowhere.
According to The Sun, Matej Vydra is holding out for a move to the Premier League, and with summer transfer deadline day fast approaching, Leeds cannot wait any longer.
Waghorn has proved himself at the Championship level, and the 28-year-old forward’s performances for Rangers and Ipswich over the past three years have been very encouraging.
The former Sunderland and Leicester City man scored 44 goals in all competitions in his two years at Rangers, as reported by The Ipswich Star, and the 28-year-old found the net 16 times and provided 11 assists in 39 Championship starts for Ipswich last season.
If £8m-£10m is all it takes for Leeds to sign Waghorn, then they sold pay that money and get the former Rangers forward.
