Leeds United should make an approach for Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter in the summer transfer window.
Arter has had injury issues this past campaign and did not get much playing time when he was fit.
Having made just 11 starts in the Premier League for the Cherries in 2017-18, the midfielder has suggested to Sky Sports that he could leave Vitality Stadium this summer.
Arter told Sky Sports regarding his conversations with Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe: “The conversations were based on what I want to do in the future, what he wants from me in the future, which I took with complete honesty.
“I felt he was completely honest with me, I was honest with him and we’ll see what happens. We’ll see what the summer brings.”
“He thanked me for my efforts this year, he thanked me for having a good attitude and being a good person around the changing room and we’ll see what happens in the summer,” added Arter.
Leeds should take advantage of this uncertainty and make a move for the Republic of Ireland international this summer.
Having played a key role in Bournemouth’s rise through the divisions over the past few years, the former Charlton Athletic prospect knows what how hard it is in the Championship.
True, leaving the Premier League for the second tier of English football would be a step down for Arter, but the 28-year-old could be tempted to play for a Leeds side who will be challenging for the playoffs next season and playing in front of 30,000 fans at Elland Road.
Arter would also have his former Bournemouth and current Republic of Ireland international teammate Eunan O’Kane at Leeds.
An accomplished central midfielder blessed with good technique and an eye for goal, the former Woking star would bring with him with a wealth of experience to the Leeds midfield.
