Leeds United are believed to be looking to sign a centre-back in the summer, and Middlesbrough’s Daniel Ayala should be on their wishlist.

According to the Sheffield Star, Middlesbrough could be prepared to sell Daniel Ayala – and Leeds United should consider making a move for the Spaniard.
Leeds are looking to add a new centre-back, and it seems that their first choice addition, Kyle Bartley, may now be unobtainable.
Swansea City do not appear comfortable with selling Bartley, and Leeds’ failure to keep hold of Garry Monk means that a return to Elland Road for the 26-year-old defender is unlikely.

The Whites will almost certainly be looking for a new centre-back though, and they should consider the possibility of bringing Ayala to Yorkshire.
Ayala may not have played much for Boro over the past campaign, but he was one of the standout players in the Championship, as the Teessiders earned promotion back in 2015/16.
And if Leeds really have ambitions of getting promoted, then players of Ayala’s quality should be on their wishlist.

Of course, there could be complications dealing with Middlesbrough due to the soured relationship between Leeds and Garry Monk.
But if Leeds could bring Ayala in, his potential partnership with Pontus Jansson would surely be one of the strongest outside the Premier League.
And Leeds should give serious consideration to the possibility of snapping up Ayala, with Middlesbrough seemingly open to offloading the 26-year-old.
