Paul Heckingbottom’s Leeds United should move for Sunderland star George Honeyman in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Wednesday, Villa and Fulham are eyeing the 23-year-old midfielder in a cut-price deal.

The midfielder was one of the better players for Sunderland in what was a hugely disappointing season for the Black Cats – they got relegated to League One, after all – and Leeds United would be wise to join Yorkshire rivals Wednesday, Steve Bruce’s Villans and the Cottagers in the race for the youngster.
The Englishman made 37 starts and five substitute appearances in the Championship for Sunderland this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in the process.

Honeyman has progressed well this season and has proved himself in the Championship, and the 23-year-old would be an asset at Leeds.
Having played for a massive and well-supported club such as Sunderland, the midfielder would not be fazed by the prospect of playing in front of 30,000 fans at Elland Road.
With Sunderland playing in League One next season, they could have to sell some of their best players, and Leeds should take advantage of this situation and make a move for Honeyman in the summer transfer window.
