Sunderland star Paddy McNair would be a smart signing for Leeds United in the summer transfer window.
Derby County, Norwich City, Stoke City and Brighton and Hove Albion all have been linked with Paddy McNair, and it is time that Leeds United join the race for the Sunderland star, especially as he is reportedly valued at just £4 million.
According to The Mirror (Transfer Live blog, 14:55, Friday, June 1, 2018), Championship trio Derby County, Norwich and Stoke are interested in signing McNair in the summer transfer window (click here to read more), while Sky Sports have credited Premier League side Brighton with interest in the former Manchester United youngster.
Sky Sports have also claimed that the Black Cats are looking for £4m for the 23-year-old, who can operate as defender or as a midfielder, and Leeds should at least make an approach.
McNair is a very good and promising young player whose experience of playing for Manchester United – one of the biggest clubs in the world – means that he would not be fazed at the pressure of turning out for Leeds.
Given that the Northern Ireland international can operate as a defender or as a midfielder, for £4m Leeds would get two players in one.
True, Brighton can offer McNair Premier League football, but it would be foolish of Leeds not to at least make an offer for the Sunderland star, especially after Championship rivals Derby, Norwich and Stoke all have (reportedly) expressed their interested.
