Leeds United should consider making a move for the highly rated Manchester City youngster on loan in January.
While Leeds are choc-a-bloc with attacking midfielders, Thomas Christiansen should still look to bring in at least one quality player in that position who can make a big difference to the side.
With that in mind, Leeds should try their luck to sign Manchester City’s highly rated attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz on loan.
The 18-year-old is one of the brightest young prospects to have come out of the club’s academy, and Pep Guardiola is so impressed with him that he has handed him two senior appearances in the Champions League, and one in the League Cup.
However, City’s option in that department is rich, and it can only get better if they sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. This could free up Diaz for a loan move, and he should be a cracker of a signing for any team in the second tier.
He is already attracting interest from other top European clubs, but City must take care of his progress. Guardiola could allow him to play in the Championship, get valuable experience and regular games, and return as a matured player.
In fact, City could also agree to a long-term loan deal, similar to what they did for Patrick Roberts, when they sent him on loan to Celtic.
He could make a huge difference to the side, and it could prove to be a master-stroke signing if Leeds can lure him to Elland Road.
