Leeds United should consider a second move for Ovie Ejaria.

Oviemuno Ejaria of Liverpool speaks with Jurgen Klopp manager of Liverpool during the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round match between Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield on January...

The Daily Mail have reported that one-time Leeds United target Ovie Ejaria has been told by Liverpool that he can leave on loan this month.

All Nigeria Soccer reported last January that the 20-year-old midfielder was set to join Garry Monk’s Leeds on loan for the remainder of the 2016-17 campaign.

But a ligament injury saw the Whites pull out of a deal shortly before the deadline. However, could the West Yorkshire side renew an interest this time around?

Leeds’ recent struggles without the injured Samu Saiz underlined the need for an additional creative spark in the final third.

United scraped one-goal wins over Hull and Burton Albion without him, but the fact that they created a total of one big chance in both games should highlight the need for someone else.

Ejaria is an attacking midfielder, but even from central midfield he can make things happen. By virtue of the fact that Eunan O’Kane and Kalvin Phillips have created one goalscoring chance for Thomas Christiansen’s side this season, can the same be said for them?

He is by no means the finished article as a player, but the fact he broke into Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League side at the age of 19 is a major feather in his cap and maybe, just maybe, a five-month spell at Elland Road would do him the world of good.

Other areas of the Leeds squad should take precedence, like a new goalkeeper and a new striker, but there is a lot resting on Saiz staying fit during the second half of the campaign.

Pablo Hernandez went off the boil in a big way toward the end of last season and Egzjan Alioski also has a worrying habit of dipping in and out of form. It makes perfect sense for Leeds to add a player of Ejaria’s talents and you wonder whether a second move is possible.
