Galatasaray are reported to be battling Leeds for Abel Hernandez.

Free agent Abel Hernandez is set to receive an offer from Galatasaray, Turkish newspaper Hurriyet report.

Fortunately for rival suitors Leeds United, the Turkish club’s offer may not be enough to persuade him to change course.

Hurriyet report Hernandez will be offered a salary of 2 million Euros per year.

This equates to £1.76 million, and £33,800 per week.

Luckily for Leeds this should still keep Hernandez within their grasp.

The Yorkshire Evening Post stated that Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani was confident of meeting Hernandez’s £40,000-a-week wage demands.

This would match Hernandez’s current salary at Hull City.

Galatasaray’s interest seemed like it could scupper Leeds’ hopes of landing Hernandez, but it is still very much in the Championship side’s hands.

The Turkish side do have Champions League football to offer, and his Uruguayan international teammate Fernando Muslera plays in goal for the club.

It is still touch and go, but purely from a monetary perspective, Leeds are still in play.
