Thomas Christiansen is likely to want to strengthen his defensive options at Leeds United.
According to the Express and Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers could be set to offload both Danny Batth and Matt Doherty this summer, and Leeds United should inquire about the availability of the pair.
Leeds will need to strengthen their defence in the coming weeks, if Thomas Christiansen’s side are to have a chance to fulfil their aims next season.
Leeds had one of the best central defensive pairings outside the Premier League last term, but Kyle Bartley’s departure means that Pontus Jansson needs a new partner.
And Leeds could do far worse than bringing Wolves defender Batth to Elland Road.
Many of the Whites targets to date this summer have been from abroad, but Batth is a proven performer at Championship level.
The commanding centre-back would offer Leeds a great deal of leadership qualities and aerial strength.
Doherty, too, would be an excellent addition for the Yorkshire side.
Doherty was one of Wolves’ top performers last term, and can cover in either full-back position.
With Leeds lacking depth at both right-back and left-back, Doherty could be invaluable and if Wolves are considering selling the duo, then Christiansen should attempt to take them away from Molineux.
