Leeds United are making themselves heard in the summer transfer market as they reportedly show interest in Wolves winger Helder Costa.
The Yorkshire Evening Post have recently claimed that Leeds have set their sights on signing Wolves’ Portuguese winger Costa this summer as they aim to build a team for another promotion push.
It’s great to see that Leeds are aiming for players of such high quality and whilst they are looking at Wolves, they should also target their midfield powerhouse Morgan Gibbs-White.
Marcelo Bielsa is in need of depth, competition and fresh legs in his squad. Gibbs-White would not only provide that, but he would have the capabilities of cementing his own place in the starting XI.
The 19-year-old is highly regarded at Molineux and was used on a number of occasions by Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo as Wolves finished the recently concluded Premier League season in the top seven.
But given the quality of players in front of him, he wasn’t able to cement his place in the starting XI as a temporary move to Leeds would do wonders for all three parties.
There’s no doubt that Leeds should continue in their reported pursuit of Costa, but whilst they are it, signing Gibbs-White on-loan would also increase their chances of being a serious threat next term.
He is very comfortable on the ball, can go either way and has the ability to pick the ball up from deep and drive at opposition defences.
Not only that, he has the qualities to put the ball into the back of the net or be that creative force from the middle of the park – the former is something Leeds are craving for.
