Leeds United are set to sign Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu – a player Daniel Farke wanted to sign for Norwich City.
Daniel Farke is finally set to sign Ethan Ampadu having targeted him for a move to Norwich City in 2020.
Leeds are set for a transfer breakthrough with Ampadu on the verge of joining the Whites.
The London Evening Standard claim that Leeds have now agreed a deal worth £10million for Ampadu.
That will be made up of £7million plus £3million in add-ons with Chelsea holding a sell-on clause in the deal.
Ampadu is set to undergo a medical with Leeds and should complete his move to Elland Road very soon.
The 22-year-old needs to kick on after four straight seasons out on loan with RB Leipzig, Sheffield United, Venezia and Spezia.
Leeds will hopefully be the right home for Ampadu and new boss Daniel Farke will be very happy.

Daniel Farke wanted Ethan Ampadu at Norwich City
Ampadu may well have been swayed by new Leeds boss Farke, who has wanted to sign him for a while.
The Athletic’s Michael Bailey reported in 2020 that Norwich were chasing a loan deal to sign Ampadu from Chelsea, back when Farke was in charge.
The Canaries ended up missing out though as Ampadu instead ended up joining Sheffield United.
It was suggested that Norwich would have loved to sign Ampadu as a holding midfielder as well as centre back cover.
That may well give a hint as to where Ampadu will be playing in the Leeds team as he closes in on a move to West Yorkshire.

That also highlights that Farke had a big say in the interest.
Stuart Webber was the main man in Norwich’s recruitment but always with strong input from Farke.
The interest went so far that Farke had identified the role Ampadu would play in his team at Carrow Road, only for the deal to not materialise in the end.
Farke has maintained his interest in Ampadu over the years though and three years on from missing out, the German is finally set to land his man.
That long-standing interest suggests that Ampadu will receive a starring role at Elland Road, which is just what he needs in order to kickstart his career.
