Leeds United want Sebastian Driussi and now appear to be leading two German clubs in the race to sign the Austin FC striker in January.
In an ideal world, Leeds would have been able to sign a new striker over the summer.
Victor Orta targeted deals for the likes of Arnaud Kalimuendo and Charles De Ketelaere but they went elsewhere.
Jesse Marsch will therefore want a new striker in January and he could look towards Major League Soccer for a goalscoring solution.

Leeds United want Sebastian Driussi
Argentinian reporter Cesar Luis Merlo reports on Twitter that Leeds are very interested in signing Austin FC striker Sebastian Driussi.
Merlo claims that two Bundesliga clubs are also interested but aren’t chasing Driussi as strongly as Leeds are right now.
This comes after CBS Sports reporter Nico Cantor claimed that Leeds are keen on Driussi alongside two other Premier League clubs.
Driussi, 26, was something of a wonderkid with River Plate and hit 20 goals in his final season with the club before joining Zenit St Petersburg in 2017.
The goals didn’t flow quite as easily in Russia as Driussi scored just 25 goals in 138 games.
Driussi bought out the final year of his contract with Zenit and headed off to America in 2021, joining Austin FC.
The Argentinian has now racked up 25 goals in his last 38 games for Austin and is attracting European interest once again.
Austin FC boss Josh Wolff has clearly been impressed with Driussi, branding him a ‘beautiful player’ and ‘extremely talented’.
Driussi can play as a striker, winger or attacking midfielder and that versatility may well appeal to Marsch.
Leeds continue to be linked with a host of MLS players and that may only continue with Marsch in charge and 49ers Enterprises in the background.
