Leeds United target Sebastian Driussi is set to commit his future to Major League Soccer side Austin FC.
The Whites have been linked with a number of MLS players in recent times, most notably the Philadelphia Union left back Kai Wagner.
Another link emerged in November as Argentinian reporter Cesar Luis Merlo claimed on Twitter that Leeds were very interested in signing Austin striker Driussi.
Leeds were thought to have a stronger interest in Driussi than a couple of other interested clubs, but January came and went without a deal.
Leeds did sign a striker, but that was Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim.
Austin managed to keep hold of Driussi and now appear to be on the verge of a new contract.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Austin are closing in on a new deal for Driussi.
Romano states that all sides are confident of a deal that would make Driussi one of the highest-paid players in MLS.

Sebastian Driussi to Leeds United surely dead in the water now
Sometimes, a player can sign a new contract and the prospect of a transfer still lingers in the background.
In the case of Driussi and Leeds though, we think this one is over.
The Argentinian is now 27 and is set to pen a lucrative deal to make himself one of the highest-paid players over in the States.
The chances of a big Premier League move now seems pretty unlikely and Leeds have already snapped up their striker in Rutter.
Driussi is a quality player and has proven himself in MLS, smashing 25 goals in 38 games in 2022.
The former River Plate and Zenit St Petersburg attacker has been hailed as a ‘beautiful player’ by Austin head coach Josh Wolff.
Austin have fought to keep him and with a new contract close, we’re unlikely to see Leeds making a move down the line.
