Leeds United want Sasa Lukic
One player set to feature for Serbia is Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic.
Lukic, 26, emerged with Partizan Belgrade before heading to Torino in 2016, and he has now racked up more than 150 appearances for the Serie A side.
A technically-gifted midfielder, Lukic is in the Serbia squad and could play a role against Brazil on Thursday.
Brazil defender Bremer – who played with Lukic at Torino – has picked him out as an ‘excellent midfielder’ in quotes carried by Mozzart Sport.
There may be Premier League clubs taking a very close look at Lukic during the World Cup.
Torino Granata report that both Leeds United and Everton are interested in signing Lukic.
It’s stated that Lukic being sold in January is ‘highly probable’ because he has yet to sign a new Torino contract.
Lukic is out of contract in 2024 and Torino seemingly want to cash in before he can walk away for nothing or a knockdown fee.
Leeds may need more midfield depth if Mateusz Klich moves on whilst Everton could add depth with Tom Davies injured once again.
The two Premier League clubs may now see Lukic as a bargain addition but it’s suggested that Lukic won’t make a decision on his future until after the World Cup.
Lukic will be in for a major battle if he does play against Brazil but there could be Premier League encounters to come for the midfielder in 2023 and beyond.
