Leeds have been linked to Rodrigo Rios but he won’t be playing for them next season.
Leeds United have been linked to a surprise deal involving the future of striker Rodrigo Rios Lozano.
The forward, nicknamed Rodri, is a free agent after leaving Spanish side Cordoba.
He is set to play next season at Cultural Leonesa, and it is reported Leeds are instrumental in the move.
Spanish outlet Cadena Ser report: “Leeds United takes the rights of the player and gives it to the Cultural.”
Rodri at Sheffield Wednesday
Leonesa are 99 per cent owned by Qatari company Aspire Academy, where Leeds board member Ivan Bravo is the director.
The Sun reported at the weekend (p59 23/7) that Leeds are set to make a formal agreement with Leonesa over a partnership.
The situation regarding ‘Rodri’ remains a little unclear, but Leo Noticias report he is on his way to Leon to seal a move.
Rodri at Sheffield Wednesday
The 27-year-old striker is a former Spain under-21 international who began his career at Sevilla.
He spent time on loan to Sheffield Wednesday from Barcelona B in 2012, where he netted just once.
It seems unlikely Rodrigo Rios Lozano will have any involvement at Leeds United this season but if the reports are accurate, then he could yet show up at the club in the future.
