According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United plan to hand Kalvin Phillips a new contract, amid speculation that Aston Villa want him.

The Daily Mail has credited Villa with interest in signing Phillips from Leeds in the summer transfer window.

While the Villans will feature in the Premier League next season after winning promotion from the Championship via the playoffs, the Whites will play in the second tier during the 2019-20 campaign.

The Yorkshire Evening Post has reported that 23-year-old central midfielder Phillips is on the list of players Leeds plan to hold talks regarding a new contract.

The report has also claimed that defender Liam Cooper, goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell and striker Kemar Roofe will receive new offers.

Phillips is one of the best midfielders in the Championship and was superb for Leeds during the 2018-19 campaign.

According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old central midfielder made 44 appearances in the Championship for Leeds this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process.
