Leeds United reportedly offer Kalvin Phillips new contract amid Aston Villa speculation

According to BBC Radio Leeds journalist Adam Pope, Leeds United have made an offer to Kalvin Phillips amid interest from Aston Villa.

It has been claimed that Phillips has two more years left on his current contract at Leeds.

The Championship club have reportedly made an offer to the central midfielder to keep him at Elland Road and stop him from joining promoted Premier League club Villa.

Good move from Leeds United?

Phillips is one of the best and most promising young central midfielders in the Championship, and it is smart of Leeds to have reportedly offered him a new contract.

The 23-year-old, who also operated as a central defender on occasions under head coach Marcelo Bielsa last season, will be an important figure in Leeds’s quest to finish in the top six of the Championship table next season.

According to WhoScored, Phillips made 44 appearances in the Championship for Leeds last season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process.
