Leeds United reportedly considering raising the stakes for ‘wonderful player’

Leeds United are planning to make a second bid for Rangers winger Ryan Kent, according to The Daily Record.

It has been reported that Leeds’s initial offer of £8 million rising to £10 million for Kent has been turned down by Rangers.

However, according to the report, the promoted Premier League club are ‘considering raising the stakes again’, with Steven Gerrard’s side braced for another bid for the former Liverpool winger.

The report has added that Rangers are ‘determined to dig in’ and keep the 23-year-old winger, described as “a wonderful player” by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on the Reds’ official website in July 2019.

Worry for Rangers?

While Rangers manager Gerrard has made it clear that he does not want to sell Kent, the Liverpool legend has added that “every player has a valuation”, and that it could be taken out of his hands eventually, as quoted in The Daily Record.

While Rangers are a massive club, Leeds have won promotion to the Premier League and will have money to spend.

The Whites are a massive club, and playing in the Premier League could be tempting for Kent.

One suspects that much will depend on how much Leeds are prepared to offer Rangers, and how much the Gers actually value Kent at.
