Leeds United are set to sign Rasmus Kristensen after a deal was agreed with Red Bull Salzburg and the defender accepted terms from the Whites.

Jesse Marsch faces a big summer as he needs major reinforcements after keeping Leeds in the Premier League.

Leeds have already raided Marsch’s former club Red Bull Salzburg by snapping up playmaker Brenden Aaronson last week.

It now looks like Leeds are set to raid Salzburg again, this time for right back Kristensen.

Leeds United are set to sign Rasmus Kristensen

Reports from Kristensen’s native Denmark claimed that Leeds had put £10million on the table to sign the defender.

It now looks like a deal has been struck as The Telegraph claim that an agreement is in place for Kristensen to join Leeds.

Kristensen is understood to have agreed personal terms with Leeds and everything is pointing towards him arriving at Elland Road.

The 24-year-old was also wanted Brentford and Borussia Dortmund but it now looks like Leeds have won the race.

Kristensen emerged with Midtjylland in Denmark before Ajax snapped him up in January 2018.

Red Bull Salzburg swooped just 18 months later and Kristensen has been a vital player for Salzburg ever since.

Kristensen has proven himself to be very durable, playing 44 games across all competitions this past season whilst racking up 10 goals and eight assists.

That’s a hugely impressive record from Kristensen, who now looks set to become Leeds’ right back of the future.

That durability is vital for Leeds given their injury problems in recent times and Marsch clearly thinks he is the right man.

Marsch worked with Kristensen at Salzburg and – just like Aaronson – will now reunite in West Yorkshire.

After some frustrating windows in recent times, this is a perfect start to the summer for Leeds and a sign of things to come.
