The youngster joined the Whites from Championship rivals Reading earlier in the summer.
Conor Shaughnessy has outlined to the Yorkshire Evening Post what fans can expect from him in terms of style of play and has admitted that he is targeting pushing for a place in the Leeds United first-team this season.
The 20-year-old only joined the Peacocks this summer, initially on trial, after he had been released by their Championship rivals Reading. However, after impressing the coaching staff at Thorp Arch, the Republic of Ireland youth international was handed a one-year deal at Elland Road, the Yorkshire Evening Post adds.

And he explained that he is determined to make the most of the opportunity, while also explaining where his strengths lie.
“I’m a centre midfielder who can get forward and back,” he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“I prefer the no 8 role and I like to think I can score goals as well.
“It’s a huge year for me and hopefully that transition from youth/under-23 football to first team. I’m hoping I can push on now in the next few months.”
While Shaughnessy is determined to make an impression with Leeds, he arguably faces an uphill task trying to force his way into Garry Monk’s plans.
The Whites currently boast a large number of players whose best position is somewhere around the central-midfield area, so it may take a significant injury crisis for the youngster to get the opportunity that he craves.
But if he can impress while working amongst the development squad, then it may not be too long before he follows in the footsteps of Fabian Delph, Jonny Howson, Alex Mowatt and Lewis Cook by rising from the academy and establishing himself as an important man for United in the middle of the park.
