Paudie O’Connor made his Leeds United debut on Saturday.

Conor Shaughnessy and Bailey Peacock-Farrell have taken to Twitter to congratulate Leeds United team-mate Paudie O’Connor on his debut yesterday.
The 20-year-old academy product played the full 90 minutes at Elland Road in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Sunderland.
O’Connor travelled with United to London for the midweek defeat by Fulham and an injury crisis at centre-back – with Liam Cooper, Matthew Pennington and Shaughnessy all sidelined – meant that the young defender made his bow in the visit of Chris Coleman’s side.
And he barely put a foot wrong, recording three ball recoveries, winning two headers and managing four blocks, prompting fellow Irishman Shaughnessy – who hasn’t played since January – and goalkeeper Peacock-Farrell to congratulate him.
Peacock-Farrell has certainly enhanced his reputation as a brilliant young goalkeeper in recent weeks after displacing Felix Wiedwald as Paul Heckingbottom’s number one.
The 21-year-old also pulled off a magnificent reflex save to keep out Ashley Fletcher’s header in the final 15 minutes on Saturday, and Peacock-Farrell reacted to the draw on Twitter afterwards.
O’Connor’s game time until the end of the season hinges on the availability of others, but he certainly did enough to suggest he could be retained by Heckingbottom next season rather than go out on loan.
