Leeds United overcame their Championship rivals with relative ease this weekend.

Goals from Samu Saiz and Stuart Dallas gave Leeds United a 2-0 victory against Sunderland on Saturday, and some of the Whites’ players wasted little time celebrating on social media after the full-time whistle.

Thomas Christiansen’s side are still undefeated and sit in the top five with four matches played, and while there is still a lot of football to be played it is a positive and encouraging start to a new era at Elland Road.

APOEL's Spanish head coach Thomas Christiansen looks on prior to the Europa League group B football match beetween Young Boys and APOEL at the Stade de Suisse in Bern on October 20, 2016.

Among the players to celebrate the win was Saiz, who dedicated his goal to the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Barcelona.

The Spaniard arrived at Leeds from Huesca earlier this summer and he has quickly settled in, looking a class act behind a central striker and ensuring there will no longer be an over reliance on Pablo Hernandez.

Midfielder Eunan O’Kane also had his say after the game, again praising the club’s fans and celebrating another vital defensive shut-out.

“Absolutely delighted with our win today,” the Leeds man wrote. “Another clean sheet. I keep saying this but our fans were incredible again.”

Fellow midfielder Ronaldo Vieira also got in on the action, expressing his delight for Leeds’ goal-scorers Saiz and Dallas.

Next up for the Whites is a League Cup clash against Newport County followed by a Championship clash with Nottingham Forest next weekend.
