Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has taken to Twitter to respond to David O’Leary’s comments about him.

Earlier today, former Leeds manager O’Leary told talkSPORT that the Whites need to sign a striker in the summer transfer window.

O’Leary said that while Bamford has done well for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this season, the West Yorkshire outfit need to sign “a really top-class centre-forward” in the summer transfer window, as the club prepare to return to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

The Whites have won the Championship title and have clinched automatic promotion to the Premier League for the 2020-21 campaign.

O’Leary said on talkSPORT earlier today: “For a forward it must be fantastic to play in this team, it must be a dream, because they create so many chances.

“But the flaw in anything is they take the game to people, they create an amazing amount of chance but don’t score enough goals to put teams away.

“In the Premier League in particular, when you take people on and create chances you’ve got to take them.

“Patrick Bamford has done great, but I still think another centre-forward would be very important for them, personally. I’d like to see them sign a really top-class centre-forward.”

Bamford has responded to those comments from O’Leary as posted by talkSPORT, as shown below.
