Leeds United have approached Pedro Martins and more talks are planned with the Al-Gharafa boss later this week.
That’s according to Portuguese outlet Zero Zero, who claim that Martins has been ‘informally approached’ by Leeds.
It’s stated that talks will ramp up in the coming days with Martins believed to be ‘one of the favourites’ at Elland Road.
The report claims that Leeds’ interest is ‘more than real’ and the ‘wish of much of Leeds’ management’ is to appoint Martins.
It’s even added that Martins hopes the deal happens too, even though he is enjoying working for Al-Gharafa.
Martins has a dream to manage in England and Leeds could now offer him the chance to make a move to the Premier League.

Who is Leeds United target Pedro Martins?
Martins had a strong playing career as a defensive midfielder, racking up nearly 200 appearances for hometown club Feirense.
Moves to Vitoria Guimaraes, Sporting and Boavista before finishing up with Santa Clara and Alverca.
Martins turned to coaching after his playing days, managing the likes of Uniao Lamas, Lusitania, Espinho B and Maritimo B.
Martins landed the top Maritimo job in 2010, coaching there for four years before moving onto Rio Ave and Vitoria Guimaraes.
The Portuguese coach kept building up his reputation and landed a move away from Portugal with Olympiacos in 2018.
Martins spent four years in charge of the Greek giants, winning three leagues titles and a domestic cup.
After leaving Olympiacos in August, Martins headed to Al-Gharafa in Qatar in November – but only after a strange situation with Hull City.
Martins reached an agreement to coach Hull and was even spotted at a game with owner Acun Ilicali.
Yet Martins had a U-turn and rejected the job, instead preferring to head off to Qatar.
Hull’s loss – in a roundabout way – could end up being Leeds’ gain, with Martins now seemingly in contention for the Elland Road job.
