Leeds United-owned striker Caleb Ekuban is confident that he will establish himself in the Trabzonspor starting lineup, as quoted on GhanaSoccernet.

Ekuban joined Turkish club Trabzonspor on loan from Leeds in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old striker has struggled to make an impact in Turkey and has played just 24 minutes so far this season, according to GhanaSoccernet.

With Burak Yilmaz and Hugo Rodallega in good form at the moment, the Ghanaian is struggling for playing time, but the striker is confident that he will start playing more and is ready to fight for his place – a sign that he is determined despite the setbacks so far this season.

GhanaSoccernet quotes Ekuban as saying: “I fell behind Burak [Yilmaz] and [Hugo] Rodallega in the pecking order but will not run from the battle.

“I will fight for my place in the team. I believe the manager will reward me and give me playing time. I love competition and know I will win back the shirt.”

Leeds United future

Ekuban joined Leeds from Chievo Verona in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £500,000.

The 24-year-old striker made 12 starts and eight substitute appearances in the Championship for the Whites last season, scoring one goal in the process, according to WhoScored.

Given that the Ghanian is already out on loan, it is going to be hard to get back into the first team at Leeds, especially if he is unable to make an impact at Trabzonspor this season.
