Leeds are currently sitting in ninth position in the Championship table.
Leeds United defeated Burton Albion in the Championship yesterday. Goals from Chris Wood and Souleymane Doukara gave Leeds all three points at Elland Road as they continued their good form in the second tier.
Leeds are now ninth in the Championship and pushing for the play-off places in the division.
Leeds United Chairman Massimo Cellino
In fact, the result yesterday took Leeds up to ninth in the table – which is a major milestone during the ownership of controversial Italian Massimo Cellino.
This is now the highest position Leeds have been in since he took over as owner of the club.
Leeds have never been ninth under the ownership of Cellino – who has been a figure of controversy since taking over at Leeds.
Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino watches from the stands
Interestingly, it comes in a week in which he has been linked with a potential sale of the club. Leeds have struggled to find any consistency under his ownership but he stood by Garry Monk after a difficult start to the season for the new Leeds boss and he is now reaping the benefits of his trust.
Leeds will just hope that Monk continues to get the time to thrive at Elland Road.
