Leeds United could turn to Nottingham Forest striker Sam Surridge this summer as they look to add another goalscorer.

Sam Surridge is a potential transfer target for Leeds United this summer with the Nottingham Forest man under consideration.

That is according to The Athletic, who claim that Surridge is a potential alternative to Swansea City hitman Joel Piroe.

Leeds are keen to add another striker this summer and appear to be looking at players with Championship experience.

Piroe and Surridge are two targets for the Whites, who have now appointed Daniel Farke as their new boss.

Patrick Bamford struggled to find his best form last season whilst Georginio Rutter has yet to make an impact since joining Leeds in January.

Rodrigo may be on the move this summer after Leeds dropped out of the Premier League and Farke could push for somebody like Surridge.

The 24-year-old isn’t a key player at Forest and he may well be tempted to leave for more first-team action at Leeds.

Who is Leeds United target Sam Surridge?

Surridge was born in Berkshire but moved to the South Coast as a kid, meaning he came up through the Bournemouth ranks,.

The 6ft 3in forward went out on loan for first-team experience, starting in non-league with Weymouth and Poole Town.

Surridge started working way up, impressing on loan at Yeovil Town and Oldham Athletic before joining Swansea City in 2019.

Bournemouth decided to sell Surridge in the summer of 2021, offloading him to Stoke City for an initial £2.5million rising to £5.5million.

The move really didn’t work out though and Surridge managed just four goals in 24 games for the Potters.

Surridge was sold just five months later as Nottingham Forest secured a £2.2million move, reuniting him with his former Swans boss Steve Cooper.

Surridge helped Forest win promotion to the Premier League but has never really been a key player, starting just one league game last season.

Leeds may well be able to offer more first-team football to Surridge, who is surely desperate for first-team minutes after a bit-part role at Forest.
