Nohan Kenneh has left Leeds United with new Hibernian boss Lee Johnson seemingly very excited by his move to Easter Road.

The end of the Premier League season is here and that means players will be learning of their release from top-flight clubs.

Leeds are likely to let a number of young players leave the club; talents that they just don’t quite see making the grade for the first team.

Not every academy player can become like Kalvin Phillips and end up being a Leeds hero; many have to go elsewhere to further their careers.

Nohan Kenneh has left Leeds United

Nohan Kenneh is one such player with his Leeds contract set to expire at the end of June.

The midfielder was being linked with a huge move to Paris Saint-Germain back in 2019 with real hype surrounding his future.

Yet just three years on, Leeds have decided to part ways with Kenneh upon the expiration of his contract.

That’s despite development coach Andrew Taylor branding Kenneh ‘outstanding’ after smashing Manchester United 3-0 in March.

Kenneh has already got himself a new club though having signed a pre-contract agreement with Scottish side Hibernian.

Kenneh, 19, will join up with new boss Lee Johnson and will now hope for a starring role in Edinburgh.

The Liberia-born talent is a surprise exit from Leeds and appears to be something of a coup for Hibs.

Johnson has now told Hibernian’s official website that he is ‘delighted’ to have snapped up Kenneh for Hibs.

Johnson feel that Kenneh has ‘a lot of quality’ and importantly has a real desire to improve.

It’s even claimed that Kenneh had offers from the UK and abroad but he picks Hibs, with Johnson excited to see him develop at Easter Road.

“We’re delighted to welcome Nohan to Hibernian FC. He adds something extra to our squad and although his primary position is defensive midfield, he also offers us the versatility to play at the back,” said Johnson.

“He’s a young player with a big presence and a lot of quality. He has a real desire to develop and play First Team football regularly. Nohan has had interest from around the UK and abroad, so this signing is a real coup for us. To reach his potential, he has to have the right attitude and desire to be the best he can. We are looking forward to working with him and welcoming him to the Hibs family,” he added.
