The former Spanish international has been without a club since leaving Anderlecht.

Leeds United’s current dip in form has seen them drop away from play-off contention in the Championship. The club are clearly short in a number of positions, including out wide.
Ezgjan Alioski’s early form has disappeared, Hadi Sacko has been below-par when used and Stuart Dallas has always been a hard-working but limited option. Meanwhile, the likes of Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Samuel Saiz are more central options.
With the transfer window shut, Leeds cannot delve into the transfer market to bring in a potential recruit to solve the issue.

But on the free agent market there is an option that makes plenty of sense.
The player in question is Diego Capel. The 29-year-old left-winger remains a free agent following his release by Anderlecht. He was once linked with a move to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur during his time at Sevilla and Sporting Lisbon.
The wide man also has two caps for Spain which he picked up in 2008, and two UEFA Cup winners’ medals – so in terms of pedigree, Leeds would be on to a winner.

But how could Leeds convince him to head to West Yorkshire? They certainly have an ace in the hole in that respect. Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta worked as technical director at Sevilla during Capel’s time at the Sanchez Pizjuan and therefore knows all about the experienced wide-man.
Leeds need a winger, Capel is available and Orta has worked with him already. This transfer could prove a perfect solution for Leeds United.
