Leeds United beat Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United 1-0 this afternoon – and the club were clearly pretty happy about it.
The Whites made the short trip over to Bramall Lane for a midday kick off, and a close game looked like ending in a goalless draw.
Leeds grabbed a late winner though, as Jack Harrison whipped in a cross for Patrick Bamford to head past Aaron Ramsdale and win the game.
With two wins from three, Leeds have made a fine start to life in the Premier League, and there will be many fans celebrating being the ‘pride of Yorkshire’ this evening.
Leeds were of course celebrating the win on their official Twitter account – and took a shot at Blades boss Chris Wilder in the process.
Back in April 2019, Wilder suggested that ‘muppets from Leeds’ – notably Adam Forshaw and today’s match-winner Bamford – had been talking rubbish about Sheffield United as the two sides battled for promotion.

Leeds clearly haven’t forgotten about those comments, and mocked Wilder by repeating his ‘muppets from Leeds’ comments alongside photos of Bamford’s winning goal and celebrations.
Fans unsurprisingly loved the post, and that’s part of the bragging rights that Leeds secured this afternoon.
