Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has responded to Eddie Nketiah’s post on Instagram following the Arsenal striker’s heroics for the England Under-21 side on Friday.
Nketiah scored a hat-trick for the England Under-21 side against their Kosovo Under-21 counterparts on Friday.
The 21-year-old striker found the net in the 51st, 55th and 61st minute to help the Young Lions to an easy 6-0 win in the Euro-21 Qualifying Qualifying Group 3 match.
The youngster has taken to Instagram to revel in his heroics, and his former Leeds teammate Phillips has responded to his post.
Nketiah joined Leeds on a season-long from Arsenal in the summer of 2019, but the youngster was recalled midway through the 2019-20 campaign after struggling to feature regularly in head coach Marcelo Bielsa’s starting lineup.
Phillips responded: “It’s normal.”
Big season ahead for Eddie Nketiah
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are the two main strikers at Arsenal at the moment, and it is not going to be easy for Nketiah to play ahead of him.
However, the striker showed his quality in the games he featured in for the Gunners after returning from Leeds last season, and it is clear that head coach Mikel Arteta rates him highly.
The 21-year-old will have to take the chances he will get next season.
