Leeds United defender Maximilian Wober has praised Weston McKennie after making a strong impact in his early weeks at the club.
Leeds had to be active in the January window and they certainly were.
In came defender Wober from Red Bull Salzburg as he became the latest player to reunite with Jesse Marsch.
That reunion didn’t exactly last long but Leeds did also bring in two more major January signings with midfielder McKennie and attacker Georginio Rutter arriving.
McKennie felt like a real coup for Leeds but he has yet to experience a win in his three appearances for the club so far.
The American has though been something of an enforcer, picking up three yellow cards in his last three games.
The hope is that McKennie and American international teammate Tyler Adams can help keep Leeds in the Premier League with their midfield partnership – and Wober has been impressed.

It seems that McKennie has made himself a big character in the Leeds setup even after just a few weeks at Elland Road.
Defender Wober has told Leeds Live that he thinks McKennie is a ‘really funny guy’.
Wober believes everybody at Leeds has enjoyed playing with McKennie from his first day at the club.
The Austrian feels that McKennie is a ‘big part’ of the Leeds group already with his personality seemingly taking over.
“Weston, he’s a character, he’s a really funny guy,” said Wober. “Directly from the first day, everybody enjoyed being on the pitch with him, training with him and he settled in pretty easily. He’s definitely already a big part of our group,” he added.
That’s a great start for McKennie, even if he remains without a win as a Leeds player.
It can be difficult to settle into a new squad and a new country but McKennie seems to be taking it all in his stride.
The next hurdle is picking up results but McKennie will hope to start with three points against Southampton today.
