Leeds United’s Under-23’s produced a stunning display on Tuesday night, smashing rivals Manchester United 3-0 at Elland Road with Archie Gray on the scoresheet.
Whilst much of the focus is on Leeds and their battle against relegation, Under-23 players are looking to impress new first-team boss Jesse Marsch.
Marsch was in attendance on Tuesday night as Leeds welcomed Manchester United to Elland Road and turned in a superb display.
Stuart McKinstry had Leeds 1-0 up before Max Dean added number two for the Whites after the break.
Archie Gray came off the bench to add number three, with the 16-year-old bagging a memorable goal against the Red Devils.
Teenage star Gray has Leeds in his blood.
His father is former Leeds striker Andy Gray. His grandfather is former Leeds defender Frank Gray. He is also the great-nephew of Leeds legend Eddie Gray.
If anybody was schooled to play for Leeds United, it was Archie Gray.
The teenager showed what he’s all about by bagging against United, no doubt impressing Marsch in the process.
One important Leeds man left impressed by Gray was owner Andrea Radrizzani, who took to Twitter to share his verdict on Leeds’ hot prospect.
Radrizzani posted just nine words, stating ‘the future is bright, another Gray in the house’.
It’s a big ask to match the accomplishments of Frank or Eddie, but Gray seems to be on the right path at Leeds.
Who knows, maybe Gray could end up being like Kalvin Phillips, becoming a first-team star one day.
