Leeds United are now reportedly facing competition from Manchester United for Sergio Gomez.

Earlier this week, TEAMtalk reported that Leeds are interested in signing Gomez from Anderlecht in the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old os left-back by trade, but the former Barcelona prospect can also operate as a left-winger.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition, page 18-19, March 26, 2022) are now reporting that Leeds’s Premier League rivals Manchester United are also keen on the Spain Under-21 international.

The Red Devils have reportedly sent scouts to watch the youngster in action.

Leeds United could miss out on Sergio Gomez to Manchester United

In our opinion, Leeds could find it tough to convince Gomez to move to Elland Road ahead of Manchester United if both sides make offers for him in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and would be able to meet the transfer fee that Anderlecht would want and the salary demands of Gomez.

Leeds may not even be in the Premier League next season.

Gomez has scored five goals and provided 10 assists in 32 Jupiler Pro League games for Anderlecht so far this season.
