Leeds United target Carlos Carvalhal has achieved La Liga safety with a stunning last-day win over Barcelona.
Carlos Carvalhal has kept Celta Vigo in La Liga just hours after being linked with the Leeds United job.
Leeds are seeking a new manager once again having parted ways with Sam Allardyce.
‘Big Sam’ couldn’t keep Leeds in the Premier League having been given just four days to pull off a miracle.
Leeds have now chosen not to keep Allardyce and are in the hunt for yet another new boss.
Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia and now Allardyce have all tried and ultimately failed to build on Marcelo Bielsa’s work.
So where do Leeds turn next?
Carlos Corberan and Steven Gerrard have been heavily linked but Carvalhal is another name emerging from the rumour mill.
The Sun’s Alan Nixon claims that Leeds are looking at Celta Vigo boss Carvalhal as a potential appointment.
Carvalhal is no stranger to Yorkshire or the Championship having guided Sheffield Wednesday into the playoff final back in 2016.
The Portuguese coach is now on the Leeds radar – but luring him to Elland Road may now be tricky.

Carlos Carvalhal leads Celta Vigo to survival amid Leeds United links
The rumours linking Carvalhal to Leeds emerged just hours before a huge game for his Celta side.
Celta sat just one place and one point clear of the relegation zone heading into the final day of the La Liga season.
A home clash with Barcelona seemed pretty daunting and some thought Celta would be going down.
Celta produced a superb performance to claim a 2-1 win though with wonderkid Gabri Veiga scoring twice.
That could be Veiga’s last game for the club with European giants chasing his signature.
Celta ended up finishing 13th in La Liga with that win, escaping the drop into Spain’s second tier.
Carvalhal can now plan for another year at Spain’s top table and a move to the Championship may not be in his immediate lans.
Sunday’s result certainly makes this potential pursuit a little trickier for Leeds and a move to Elland Road just became less likely.
