Ahead of Leeds United’s crucial Championship clash with Newcastle United, Garry Monk says that his side must stick together and carry on doing the good work.

Leeds are fifth in the Championship and are fighting for a play-off spot. However, they face a tough match against second placed Newcastle United who head into this match on the back of a 2-1 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday in their last match.

Leeds lost 2-0 to Newcastle in the corresponding fixture, and Monk will be hoping that his side doesn’t make those same mistakes again when they face the Magpies at St James’ Park on Friday.

Monk took to social networking site Twitter to deliver a message for the team and the Leeds fans, saying the Whites must take one game at a time. He tweeted:

Leeds are heading into this fixture on the back of a moral-boosting 3-0 win against Preston in their last match.

Monk will be boosted by the return of his skipper Liam Bridcutt, who has been declared fit to play after nursing his Achilles problems. Another key player, Hadi Sacko, is available for selection as well after he recovered from an ankle injury.
