Kemar Roofe drew another blank in Leeds United’s 2-0 win over Burton Albion on Saturday.

The 23-year-old was given his fifth start of the season in the Championship – and 14th league appearance overall – but he is yet to find the net for Leeds in any competition.

This means that Roofe, a £3 million signing from Oxford United, has now gone 575 league minutes without finding a goal – or 9.5 hours of football.

But his latest Instagram posts suggests that not only is the young forward very aware of his goal-shy run of form, but he believes that good things come to those who wait.

Roofe uploaded a photo of himself having an effort at goal, accompanied by the caption: “Keep knocking……”

It would be very easy for Roofe to shy away from the issue, but he certainly does bode well that he seems determined to open that door eventually – and, given his goalscoring feats last season, it is no wonder that he is a confident lad.

The ex-Oxford hitman netted 28 times in all competitions last season – including 18 in League Two – but he seems to be struggling with the step up in class to the Championship.
